Tbilisi - Batumi
Batumi is big industrial center and well-known health resort. It was built on the site of the earlier Roman fort of Batys as a Georgian fortress named Tamaryschihe. The city has borne its current name since around the 11th century.
To the most important city atractions belongs Turkisch Mosque from the second half of the 19th century, eclectic villa development from the turn of the 19th and 20th century, Coastal Park, University, synagogue, Catholic church from the beginning of the 20th century, dolphinarium and botanic garden (founded in 1912). In the city located is many cultural institutions - Adjara Museum of Local History (with section presenting the history of Adjara with etnographical section; also in the permament exhibition "The golden Treasure" - monuments of antiquity), Archeological Museum, Art Gallery. During the summer season site of numerous festivals and events of a cultural nature (including Club Music Festival, Film Festival etc.)
