Tbilisi - Batumi

Batumi is a large industrial center and a well-known health resort. It was built on the site of an earlier Roman fort Batys, as a Georgian fortress called Tamaryscihe. From around the 11th century, the city bears its current name.
The most important attractions of the city include a Turkish mosque from the second half of the 19th century, eclectic villa buildings from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, Przymorski Park, the University, a synagogue, a Catholic church from the early 20th century, a dolphinarium and a botanical garden (founded in 1912). There are many cultural institutions in the city - the Ajarian Local History Museum (with a section presenting the history of Adjara, with an ethnographic section, the permanent exhibition also "Golden Treasure" - monuments of the ancient era), the Archaeological Museum, the Art Gallery. In the summer, a place of numerous festivals and cultural meetings (eg club music festival, film festival, etc.).
